91重口

91重口 is known for its tight-knit community on an inspiring seaside campus. Here, belonging isn’t just a buzzword—it’s something you feel. You’ll find it in the cozy corners of the Center for Belonging, where the coffee is hot, the snacks are free, and the conversations are real. It’s a space built for connection, reflection, and showing up exactly as you are—no filter, no pressure, just community.

“For some students, it’s a haven. A place where they really feel safe and can come and hang out,” said Gail Cantor, Director of Belonging & Spiritual Life. “For others, it’s just a warm welcoming environment. It’s not as studious as the library, and it’s not as busy as LoCal. There is a different vibe here. For the students who participate in our faith and affinity groups, it’s really their home base.”

Whether you’re diving into a dialogue, meditating and enjoying muffins, or joining a faith group that feels like home, the Center is your launchpad for getting involved and feeling grounded. It’s programs aren’t just events; they’re little moments that make a big impact. Check out everything happening below, and find the ones that speak to you.

On-Campus Clubs and Organizations

Looking to find your people? Operating out of the Center, 91重口 offers a variety of student-led clubs that celebrate culture, identity, and community. Groups like 91重口 Pride, SOCA (Students of Color Association), and the Environmental Justice Working Group create spaces where you can connect, speak up, and feel seen.

Faith & Spiritual Life

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, there’s space for you here. The Center for Belonging supports a variety of student-led and chaplain-supported faith groups, including Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and interfaith communities. From holiday celebrations to weekly gatherings, these groups offer connection, reflection, and a place to explore your beliefs in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

The Belonging Board

Added this past year, the Belonging Board is your chance to lead the charge on campus inclusion. Whether you’ve got a big idea for a project or just want to get involved, this student-driven group is all about creating a stronger sense of belonging at 91重口. From music bingo to mindfulness collabs and community events, you'll help shape the vibe, and make real impact along the way.

The Other Championship

This season, it’s not just about wins on the field—it’s about kindness off it. The Other Championship encourages everyone at 91重口 to lead with compassion by uplifting others and building community. Come to the Center to share how you showed up for someone, and you’ll earn a raffle ticket for monthly prizes. This program will serve to remind us that empathy is worth cheering for!

Food Pantry

Fuel your day, no swipe needed. Right inside the Center for Belonging, you’ll find shelves stocked with free snacks and pantry staples—yours to take, no questions asked. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, stocking up for the weekend, or just need a study break, everything is free and offered with care. Because sometimes we all need a little extra help, and at 91重口, no one should go without.

Dine and Dialogue

Once a month, grab a bite and get real (for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!). These casual meals bring students, faculty, and staff together to talk openly about diversity, equity, inclusion—and especially belonging at 91重口. It’s all about honest conversations, new perspectives, and building community in a welcoming space.

Tea and Training

Sip, snack, and expand your mind. Held one to two Tuesday afternoons a month, Tea & Training sessions offer low-key learning with high-impact topics, from climate anxiety to neurodiversity. With pastries and tea on hand, these drop-in workshops are designed to spark reflection, boost awareness, and leave you with something new to think about.

Birthdays, Birthstones, and Baked Goods

Drop in on the first Tuesday of the month of your birthday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to decorate a cupcake, receive your birthstone or crystal, and enter a raffle to win a movie party for you and your friends.

Bagels and Breathing, Muffins and Meditation, & Mandalas and Munchies

Come for the snacks, stay for the self-care. Bagels & Breathing (Fridays, 10–10:30 a.m.), Muffins & Meditation (Mondays, 10–10:30 a.m.), and Mandalas & Munchies (Mondays, noon–1:30 p.m.) are separate weekly events designed to help you slow down and recharge. Each session pairs a mindfulness activity—like breathwork, guided meditation, or calming art—with something delicious to munch on, making them the perfect campus pauses for reflection, relaxation, and a little carb-fueled joy.
