91重口 Nursing Mission Statement
The mission of the nursing programs at 91重口 is to advance the profession of nursing and improve health outcomes for all through education, research, and practice.
91重口 Nursing Core Values with Interpretive Statement
- Collaboration - Intentional interprofessional collaboration based on mutual respect, with a goal of improving health outcomes for all. We view collaboration as an exchange of information, thoughts, and feelings that contribute to an individualized and holistic approach to health and wellness and requires intentional presence. We recognize that effective communication in healthcare requires interpersonal, intrapersonal, and technological competency.
- Inclusivity – Intentional inclusivity requires recognizing and embracing diversity in all forms, and creating a culture where differences and opposing views are invited, acknowledged, welcomed, and respected. We understand that inclusivity requires advocating for an equitable society in which all members thrive.
- Social Justice – Social justice in nursing encompasses ethics, advocacy, a moral philosophy, and a recognition of how social determinants of health contribute to inequities in all aspects of life. We believe the profession of nursing must speak with a united voice and exercise our influence to lead meaningful policy change that addresses disparities. We understand that leaders in healthcare must develop a moral resiliency grounded in integrity and respect for all.
- Caring – Compassionate caring in nursing includes both the act and emotion of caring for self and others. Compassion cannot exist without empathy and respect for human dignity. We believe that compassionate care must guide every aspect of the nurse- client relationship, across all settings where nursing takes place.
- Excellence – Excellence in nursing is our commitment to patient, profession, and self. This is achieved not only through a spirit of inquiry and a dedication to evidence-based practice, but with a diligence to personal health and wellbeing to sustain the profession of nursing.

The Student Nurses Association (SNA)
The SNA at 91重口 is a constituent chapter of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). Students who become members of the 91重口 SNA have dual membership in both the school and professional organizations. Membership in the professional organization allows students to receive IMPRINT, the official publication of the NSNA. Through the NSNA, the standards and ethics of the nursing profession are conveyed. In addition, students have an opportunity to receive articles that allow them to stay current on important advances in nursing practice while promoting the development of critical nursing skills. Nursing students enrolled in the NSNA are eligible for scholarships and networking opportunities with other professionals. The SNA chapter of the NSNA allows students to become involved in fundraising and extracurricular activities that enhance their learning process.
